Indoni Founder

Dr Nomcebo Mthembu, founder of Indoni, is a pioneer in the upbringing and development for rights and acceptance for African people and their divers Cultures.

She is a dynamic and multi-talented woman, having begun her career in Accounting, beforestudying science then medicine. After completing medical studies, she went on to work at various Health Facilitieswithin both the public and the private sector. From there she joined the Medicross group as a partner and General Practitioner, where she is presently employed.

Throughout her career, Dr Mthembu has used her spare time to champion the cause of the vulnerable, especially women and children, volunteering for various organizations including as a Volunteer Teacher at Soweto schools through Fundani Nathi and as a Volunteer Blind Tape Readerfor Wits University. During medical school she would offer her free medical services to local township clinics of Pretoria, and she received a gold medal for her commitment.

This commitment to uplifting and caring for the less fortunate eventually led to the birth of Indoni, a youth empowerment organization Chaired by Dr Mthembu, championing the development of young people through arts and culture, promoting moral regeneration, promoting the appreciation of cultural diversity, promoting social cohesion among the various cultural groups of South Africa and advocating pride for one’s heritage among young people.
